School Counseling

My name is Mrs. Rebecca Dunn, and I have been a school counselor in the ConVal district since 2011. Elementary school counselors work with all students to provide a program based on district and New Hampshire state standards and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national model.

ConVal School Counseling Mission Statement: The school counselor’s mission is to provide all students with a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes student achievement through maximum growth in academic, career, and personal/social domains.

School counselors support and advocate for all students in their academic, career, and personal/social development through:
- classroom guidance lessons
- small group counseling sessions
- brief individual counseling
- consultation with parents/family members and teachers
- collaboration with and referral to community resources
